Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets a number of our criteria for what a excellent bed must have. With eight exceptional layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all of the proper materials in its construction. Real Mattress Reviews Dreamcloud
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the mattress. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, then proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, particularly so for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Real Mattress Reviews Dreamcloud
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact with one another. Real Mattress Reviews Dreamcloud
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The middle of these three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at releasing heat, so the addition of these small ventilations encourages more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of polyurethane transitions into the firmer support segment of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent rebound and assist to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found at the base of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure into the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.
At this point I want to note that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving only my view on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their view as well. This will provide you with a better sense of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it a mean score of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this bed is really firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it is definitely a good mattress. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from this mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to simply explaining the feel of this mattress for you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do this, I put a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can find the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, therefore I did not feel like I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover gave quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. But, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I thought the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which can be key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a partner, you will want to know what it’ll feel like if the other person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress to another. Real Mattress Reviews Dreamcloud
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates somebody rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great solution for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Real Mattress Reviews Dreamcloud
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re likely to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and will need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, then it’s likely to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it will give you.
I am particularly interested to see whether the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did in the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
