As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets a number of our criteria for what a excellent bed should have. With 8 unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Zibby
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Zibby
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Zibby
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the mattress. The middle of these three layers is especially essential for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at releasing heat, so the addition of those tiny ventilations encourages more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of the mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in moderating temperature as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies in the base of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure into the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could sense some instant pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I want to let you know that individuals of different body shapes and types will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my view on the overall firmness level of this DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion too. This will provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can find in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of this DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is apparent that this bed is really firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a solid bed. While you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you from the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to simply explaining the feel of this mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map above the bed and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can see the results on the image below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was equally dispersed across the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me from the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. However, I still felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I thought the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to transition across these positions with relative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you will want to find out what it’ll feel like if another individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around at night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. Dreamcloud Zibby
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates somebody rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still regard the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great solution for couples.
When purchasing a new bed, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Zibby
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll find the wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a spouse and will need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, then it is going to be crucial that you consider the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I am especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the bed as I did in the middle. Going closer to the side, I felt a little compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the mattress in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly good.
