Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our criteria for what a quality mattress must provide. With eight exceptional layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud User Reviews
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives great airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there is no hug or significant shaping to the bed. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud User Reviews
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the distinct materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud User Reviews
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate relaxation.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the bed. The center of these three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is good at dissipating heat, so the addition of those small ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the major function of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the bed and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
At this point I’d like to let you know that people of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. As opposed to giving only my opinion on the general firmness level of this mattress, I invited three additional individuals to give their view too. This will provide you with a better sense of the firmness range you may see from the bed.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the mattress, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s clear that this bed is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid bed. At the same time you’ll feel some slight sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you out of the bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Rather than just explaining the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on the mattress. To do this, I put a pressure map above the bed and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can find the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was equally distributed throughout the mattress, therefore I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar area and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my stomach, I thought that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and out of the bed, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse, you will want to know what it’ll feel like if the other individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud User Reviews
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome solution for couples.
When buying a new bed, the majority of men and women want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put 4 balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud User Reviews
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll find the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a spouse and will need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, then it is going to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it will give you.
I am especially interested to determine if the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more conventional innerspring versions.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle. Going closer to the side, I felt a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly good.
