Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our criteria for what a excellent mattress must have. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Stomach Sleeper
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.

Construction Dreamcloud Stomach Sleeper
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down to foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play , I’m stoked to get into these layers to see how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Stomach Sleeper
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a soft texture up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The center of these three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at releasing heat, so the addition of those tiny ventilations encourages more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support segment of the mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent rebound and assist to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
At this point I want to note that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. As opposed to giving only my view on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I invited three additional people to present their view too. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you may see from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of the mattress, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the industry norm of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s apparent that this mattress is really firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. While you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you from the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
Rather than simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do so, I placed a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can find the results on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my back, my weight was equally distributed across the mattress, so I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief in my lumbar area and also the pocketed coils helped lift me from the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. But, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my stomach, I believed that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and out of the bed, which can be key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you will want to find out what it will feel like when another individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. Dreamcloud Stomach Sleeper
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This indicates you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome solution for couples.
While purchasing a new bed, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed 4 balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are meant to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Stomach Sleeper
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combo will appeal to a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
If you are going to share your bed with a spouse and will need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m particularly interested to determine if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to fulfill the edge support of more conventional innerspring versions.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the bed as I did at the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system under. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a good job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
