Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our criteria for what a excellent mattress must provide. With 8 exceptional layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Sleep Reviews
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dreamcloud Sleep Reviews
The DreamCloud features a tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Sleep Reviews
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The center of the three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is good at releasing heat, so the inclusion of those small ventilations encourages more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in moderating temperature as the spaces between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure into the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from these springs.
At this point I’d like to note that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving only my opinion on the general firmness level of the mattress, I invited three additional people to give their view as well. This will provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the firmness of the mattress, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it is clear that this mattress is really firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a solid bed. At the same time you’ll feel some slight sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you out of the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to just explaining the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on the mattress. To do so, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can find the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was equally distributed throughout the mattress, therefore I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. But, I still felt supported while the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I believed that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which can be key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you’ll want to know what it’ll feel like if the other individual crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to another. Dreamcloud Sleep Reviews
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great solution for couples.
While purchasing a new bed, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress then measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Sleep Reviews
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a vast assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it is likely to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it will provide.
I’m particularly interested to determine whether the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring versions.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the bed as I did at the center. Going closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses experience a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
