Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets a number of our standards for what a excellent mattress must have. With 8 unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Reviews
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, then proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Reviews
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Reviews
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel stuck in the bed. The middle of the three layers is particularly essential for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of those tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support segment of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent rebound and assist disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in moderating temperatures as the distances between them permit continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture. I started off by applying mild hand pressure to the bed and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could sense some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I want to note that individuals of different body shapes and types will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving only my opinion on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I invited three other individuals to give their opinion too. This will provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s apparent that this mattress is really firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it is definitely a solid mattress. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you out of the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to just explaining the feel of this mattress to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was equally distributed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. However, I still felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I believed that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to transition across these positions with relative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you’ll want to know what it’ll feel like when the other person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress from another. Dreamcloud Reviews
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this an awesome option for couples.
While buying a new bed, most men and women want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Reviews
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re likely to encounter some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a spouse and will need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, then it is going to be crucial that you consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m particularly interested to see whether the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle. Going closer to the side, I felt a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the coil system under. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
