As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our standards for what a quality mattress must have. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Review Mattress
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant contouring to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially so for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Review Mattress
The DreamCloud features a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play , I am stoked to get into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Review Mattress
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will discover three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of these three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at releasing heat, so the addition of these small ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the entire mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with all the pocketed coils below and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I want to let you know that people of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I invited three other people to give their opinion as well. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you can see from the bed.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the industry standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it is clear that this mattress is really firm.
Personally, I gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. While you’ll feel some small sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you from this mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Rather than simply explaining the feel of this mattress to you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on the mattress. To do this, I put a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the results on the picture below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief at my lumbar area and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported while the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and from the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to shift across these positions with relative ease.
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it’ll feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of movement that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress from another. Dreamcloud Review Mattress
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I’d still consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome solution for couples.
When purchasing a new bed, most men and women want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed 4 balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Review Mattress
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to encounter some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a partner and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I’m particularly interested to determine whether the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the bed as I did in the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
