Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets a number of our standards for what a excellent bed must provide. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Return Process
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the bed. If you’re looking to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dreamcloud Return Process
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play here, I’m stoked to get into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Return Process
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of those tiny ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support segment of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in moderating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and texture. I started off by applying mild hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could sense some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.
At this point I want to let you know that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving only my view on the general firmness level of this mattress, I invited three other people to give their opinion as well. This will give you a much better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the market standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is clear that this bed is pretty firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid bed. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you out of this bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Rather than simply describing the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I chose to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the outcomes on the image below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, therefore I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. But, I still felt supported while the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I believed that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and out of the mattress, which can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse, you will want to find out what it will feel like when the other individual crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that’s detectable from one side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Return Process
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most men and women want to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Return Process
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a spouse and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it’s going to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it will give you.
I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the center. Pressing closer to the side, I felt a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
