Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our criteria for what a quality mattress must provide. With eight exceptional layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Plush Mattress
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Plush Mattress
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play , I’m stoked to get into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Plush Mattress
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The middle of these three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of those small ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of polyurethane transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent rebound and assist disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them permit continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the bed and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
Now I’d like to note that people of different body shapes and types will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion too. This will give you a better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the bed.
As you can find in the chart above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the market standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s clear that this mattress is pretty firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid bed. While you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you from the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
Rather than simply describing the feel of this mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on the mattress. To do so, I put a pressure map above the bed and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can see the outcomes on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my back, my weight was equally dispersed across the mattress, therefore I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. But, I still felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and out of the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it will feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around at nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of motion that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Plush Mattress
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
When purchasing a new bed, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to simulate different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Plush Mattress
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll find the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a spouse and need to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I’m especially interested to determine if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the bed as I did at the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Changing to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the wrapped coil system under. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly good.
