As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our criteria for what a quality mattress must provide. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Nectar Sleep
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Nectar Sleep
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down to foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play , I’m stoked to get into these layers to see how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Nectar Sleep
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester mix for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the mattress. The middle of these three layers is particularly important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at releasing heat, so the addition of those tiny ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the distances between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure into the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
At this point I want to let you know that individuals of different body shapes and types will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I invited three other individuals to give their opinion as well. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you can expect from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of the DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is clear that this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it is definitely a good mattress. While you’ll feel some slight sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to simply describing the feel of the mattress to you, I wanted to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me from the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I believed the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and from the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease.
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of motion that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Nectar Sleep
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
While buying a new bed, most men and women want to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Nectar Sleep
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re likely to encounter some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and will need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m particularly interested to see whether the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the bed as I did in the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you’re lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
