Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our standards for what a excellent bed should provide. With 8 exceptional layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Moving
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives great airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress contains better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you are looking to sink into a mattress, then proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Moving
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Moving
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The center of the three layers is especially important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of those small ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support segment of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in moderating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies in the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After having a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting mild hand pressure into the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to interact with all the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
Now I’d like to note that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my view on the overall firmness level of this DreamCloud, I enlisted three other people to present their view as well. This will give you a much better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the firmness of the mattress, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compare this to the industry norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is apparent that this bed is really firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid bed. At the same time you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you out of the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
Rather than just explaining the feel of this mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can see the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my back, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. But, I felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I believed that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to shift across these positions with relative ease.
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a partner, you will want to find out what it’ll feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Moving
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This means you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great solution for couples.
While buying a new bed, most men and women wish to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Moving
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to encounter some instant sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you are going to share your bed with a spouse and will need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it is likely to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I am particularly interested to see whether the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Going closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on top of the bed in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
