As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our standards for what a quality bed must have. With 8 unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud uses all the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Mattress Similar
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant shaping to the bed. If you are looking to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dreamcloud Mattress Similar
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down to foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and plenty of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I’m stoked to get into these layers to understand how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Mattress Similar
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will discover three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The center of these three layers is especially essential because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at releasing heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent rebound and assist disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in moderating temperatures as the distances between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the base of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After taking a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure into the bed and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.
Now I’d like to note that individuals of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. As opposed to giving just my view on the general firmness level of this mattress, I enlisted three additional individuals to give their view too. This will give you a better sense of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compare this to the market norm of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it is apparent that this bed is pretty firm.
Personally, I gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. While you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to simply explaining the feel of the mattress for you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was evenly dispersed throughout the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. But, I felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I believed the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and out of the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it will feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress to another. Dreamcloud Mattress Similar
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great solution for couples.
While purchasing a new bed, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Mattress Similar
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to encounter some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it is likely to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it will provide.
I am particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle. Going closer to the side, I felt a little compression because of the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a good job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the mattress in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
