As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our standards for what a quality mattress must have. With 8 exceptional layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Matterss Review
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress includes better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Matterss Review
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the distinct materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Matterss Review
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. Additionally, it is quilted with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The center of the three layers is particularly important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at dissipating heat, so the addition of those small ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions into the firmer support segment of the mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent rebound and assist disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in moderating temperature as the distances between them permit continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure into the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with all the pocketed coils below and experienced a pleasant lift from the springs.
At this point I want to let you know that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. As opposed to giving only my opinion on the overall firmness level of this mattress, I enlisted three other people to present their opinion as well. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it a mean score of 7.75. Compared to the industry standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s apparent that this mattress is really firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a solid mattress. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you out of this mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to just explaining the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, therefore I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar area and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. However, I still felt supported while the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I thought the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and out of the mattress, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a spouse, you’ll want to find out what it will feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress from another. Dreamcloud Matterss Review
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This indicates you’re not likely to be too disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this an awesome option for couples.
When purchasing a new bed, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Matterss Review
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your bed with a spouse and will need to utilize the whole surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I am particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the bed as I did in the middle. Going closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a good job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the mattress in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly good.
