Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills a number of our standards for what a quality mattress should provide. With eight exceptional layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Matterass
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s no hug or significant shaping to the bed. If you’re looking to sink into a mattress, then proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Matterass
The DreamCloud features a tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Matterass
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the mattress. The middle of these three layers is especially essential because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of those tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in moderating temperatures as the distances between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found at the base of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting light hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I started to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
At this point I want to note that people of different body shapes and types will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving only my view on the overall firmness level of the mattress, I enlisted three other people to present their view too. This will provide you with a much better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can find in the chart above, the testers were in agreement about the firmness of this mattress, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compare this to the market standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this mattress is really firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it is definitely a good mattress. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you from the bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to simply describing the feel of the mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can find the results on the picture below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was equally dispersed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my stomach, I thought that the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and out of the bed, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with relative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you’ll want to know what it will feel like when another individual crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. Dreamcloud Matterass
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This indicates you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
While buying a new bed, the majority of men and women wish to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed 4 balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Matterass
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combination will appeal to a vast assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers in particular.
If you are going to share your mattress with a spouse and need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it’s going to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did at the middle. Going closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the mattress in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
