As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills a number of our criteria for what a excellent bed should have. With 8 exceptional layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud uses all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Logo Png
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, then proceed from the DreamCloud.

Construction Dreamcloud Logo Png
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Logo Png
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The middle of these three layers is particularly important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is good at releasing heat, so the addition of those tiny ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of foam transitions to the firmer support segment of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies in the base of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
At this point I’d like to let you know that individuals of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I invited three additional people to present their opinion too. This will give you a better feeling of the firmness range you may see from the bed.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the firmness of this DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it’s clear that this bed is really firm.
Personally, I gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. At the same time you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud for you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on the mattress. To do so, I placed a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can find the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was equally dispersed throughout the mattress, therefore I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief in my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. But, I still felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I believed the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to shift across these positions with relative ease.
If you intend on sharing your bed with a partner, you will want to know what it will feel like if another individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around at nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. Dreamcloud Logo Png
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome option for couples.
While purchasing a new mattress, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Logo Png
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to encounter some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide range of sleepers, but will suit stomach and back sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and will need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, then it is likely to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it will provide.
I’m especially interested to determine whether the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a bit of compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly good.
