As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our standards for what a quality mattress should have. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all of the right materials in its construction. Dreamcloud In Canada
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress includes better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s no hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, particularly so for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud In Canada
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the distinct materials at play here, I’m stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud In Canada
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a luxuriously soft feel up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the mattress. The middle of these three layers is especially important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at releasing heat, so the addition of those tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support segment of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent rebound and assist to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in regulating temperature as the spaces between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found at the base of the mattress, with the main function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the entire mattress.
After taking a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure into the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with all the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
Now I’d like to let you know that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of the mattress, I invited three other individuals to present their opinion as well. This will provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the bed.
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the mattress, giving it a mean score of 7.75. Compare this to the market norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is clear that this bed is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it is definitely a good bed. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you out of the mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to simply describing the feel of the mattress for you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on the mattress. To do so, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can find the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was equally dispersed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. But, I felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I thought that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and out of the bed, which is key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you will want to know what it’ll feel like if another individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to another. Dreamcloud In Canada
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I’d still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
When buying a new mattress, most people want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are meant to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud In Canada
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will satisfy stomach and back sleepers the most.
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, it is likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of edge support it will provide.
I’m particularly interested to see whether the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Going closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses experience a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
