As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our criteria for what a excellent mattress should provide. With 8 unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Dealer
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress includes better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you are looking to sink into a mattress, then move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dreamcloud Dealer
The DreamCloud has a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Dealer
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which provides the sleeper with immediate pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The center of the three layers is especially important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at releasing heat, so the addition of those small ventilations promotes more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in moderating temperatures as the spaces between them permit continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the major function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure to the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with all the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I want to let you know that people of different body shapes and types will sense firmness differently. As opposed to giving only my opinion on the general firmness level of this mattress, I enlisted three other people to present their view too. This will give you a much better feeling of the firmness range you may see from the mattress.
As you can see in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is clear that this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it’s definitely a good bed. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
Rather than simply explaining the feel of this mattress to you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on the mattress. To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can see the outcomes on the picture below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my back, my weight was equally distributed across the mattress, so I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. However, I felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I thought that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you intend on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you will want to find out what it’ll feel like when another individual crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress to another. Dreamcloud Dealer
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it caused: the larger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this an awesome option for couples.
When buying a new bed, the majority of people wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Dealer
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a partner and will need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it is going to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the exact same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to fulfill the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression because of the highest foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the coil system below. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the mattress in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
