As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills a number of our standards for what a quality bed should have. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Commercial
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Commercial
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil components, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the distinct materials at play , I am stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Commercial
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft feel up top. It’s also built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will discover three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the bed. The center of these three layers is especially important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at dissipating heat, so the addition of these tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also aid in moderating temperatures as the distances between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the base of the mattress, with the major function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
Now I’d like to let you know that people of different body shapes and types will sense firmness differently. As opposed to giving just my view on the overall firmness level of the mattress, I enlisted three other people to give their opinion too. This will provide you with a much better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s clear that this bed is really firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a solid bed. While you’ll feel some small sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this mattress and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to simply describing the feel of the DreamCloud for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map above the bed and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the outcomes on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, therefore I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover gave quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me from the mattress and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my hips and shoulders. But, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my belly, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it’ll feel like if another person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of movement that is detectable from one side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Commercial
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be pretty good at isolating motion, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This means that you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, making this an awesome option for couples.
When buying a new bed, most people wish to know whether they’ll feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress then quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, weight and density are meant to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Commercial
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you’ll find the wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and will need to utilize the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it will give you.
I am particularly interested to see whether the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring versions.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over into the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the mattress in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for the day. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly good.
