Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our criteria for what a quality bed must provide. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud uses all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Bed Frame
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives great airflow, to the gel memory foam at the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to deliver a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid beds.
Even though it uses multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, then proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers out there.

Construction Dreamcloud Bed Frame
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play , I’m stoked to get into these layers to understand how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Bed Frame
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you will find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The center of these three layers is particularly essential for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is made up of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at dissipating heat, so the addition of those tiny ventilations promotes even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support segment of the mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent bounce and help disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the distances between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found at the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting light hand pressure to the bed and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with all the pocketed coils below and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I want to note that people of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving only my view on the general firmness level of this DreamCloud, I invited three other people to present their opinion too. This will provide you with a much better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the bed.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compared to the market standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it is apparent that this mattress is pretty firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid bed. While you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you from this bed and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
As opposed to just explaining the feel of this DreamCloud to you, I wanted to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can see the results on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, therefore I didn’t feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. However, I felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I believed that the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and out of the mattress, which can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it will feel like if the other person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of movement that’s detectable from one side of the mattress from another. Dreamcloud Bed Frame
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the larger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be pretty good at isolating movement, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This indicates that you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
When buying a new bed, the majority of men and women want to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I placed 4 balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 lb medicine ball, and a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Bed Frame
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you’ll hit the wrapped coils and experience amazing support. This combo will interest a vast range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you are going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, then it is likely to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it will provide.
I’m particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will suffer the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Going closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the wrapped coil system under. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the mattress in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for the day. A lot of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly good.
