Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our criteria for what a excellent bed must have. With eight unique layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Adjustable Bed Review
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mixture of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this bed contains better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Despite the fact that it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the bed. If you are looking to sink into a mattress, then move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, particularly for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dreamcloud Adjustable Bed Review
The DreamCloud features an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and plenty of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play here, I’m stoked to get into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dreamcloud Adjustable Bed Review
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with immediate relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you’ll discover three thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some satisfying sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel trapped in the mattress. The center of these three layers is particularly important for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is great at releasing heat, so the addition of these tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support section of the mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent rebound and assist disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them permit continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found in the bottom of the mattress, with the major use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After having a peek at the construction of the DreamCloud, let’s chat about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying mild hand pressure into the bed and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I began to interact with all the pocketed coils below and experienced a nice lift from the springs.
Now I’d like to note that people of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving just my view on the general firmness level of this mattress, I enlisted three additional individuals to present their view too. This will give you a much better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can see in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s apparent that this bed is pretty firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it is definitely a good bed. While you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the center will lift you from this bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Rather than simply describing the feel of the mattress to you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points form while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and tummy. You can find the results on the picture below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was equally dispersed throughout the mattress, so I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief at my lumbar region and also the pocketed coils helped lift me from the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. However, I still felt supported while the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I thought the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which can be crucial for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to shift across these positions with comparative ease.
If you plan on sharing your bed with a spouse, you will want to know what it will feel like if the other individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around at night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of movement that’s detectable from 1 side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Adjustable Bed Review
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the mattress. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly bigger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, thanks to its individually wrapped coils. This indicates you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, making this a great solution for couples.
When purchasing a new mattress, most men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or lying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, along with a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress then quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Adjustable Bed Review
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to encounter some instant sinkage in the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and feel amazing support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
If you are going to share your mattress with a spouse and will need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, then it is likely to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I am particularly interested to determine if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did in the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a bit of compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Changing to my side, I noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
