As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets many of our criteria for what a quality mattress should have. With eight unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all the proper materials in its construction. Dreamcloud Adjustable Base Warranty
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Below that are a mixture of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this bed contains better quality comfort materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it uses multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you’re searching to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.

Construction Dreamcloud Adjustable Base Warranty
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down to foam and wrapped coil parts, which operate in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play , I am stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact together. Dreamcloud Adjustable Base Warranty
Cover – The cover is made up of a cashmere and polyester mix for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Below the cover, you’ll find three thin layers of polyurethane. While these segments are soft to the touch and supply some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel stuck in the bed. The center of these three layers is especially important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is great at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these tiny ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of foam transitions to the firmer support section of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs give the bed excellent bounce and help disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in regulating temperature as the spaces between them allow for continuous air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After taking a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting mild hand pressure to the bed and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could sense some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a nice lift from these springs.
At this point I’d like to note that individuals of different body shapes and types will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving just my view on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I enlisted three additional people to give their view as well. This will provide you with a much better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of this DreamCloud, giving it an average score of 7.75. Compared to the industry norm of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s clear that this bed is really firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a good bed. While you’ll feel some slight sinking because of the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from the bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to just describing the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on the mattress. To do this, I placed a pressure map on top of the bed and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can find the results on the image below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my backside, my weight was evenly distributed throughout the mattress, so I didn’t feel like I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. However, I still felt supported and the top foam layers relieved what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I believed the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I was able to shift across these positions with relative ease.
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you will want to know what it’ll feel like when another person crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around during the nighttime. This next test is intended to demonstrate the intensity of motion that’s detectable from one side of the mattress from the other. Dreamcloud Adjustable Base Warranty
To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a small amount of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly larger spikes, I would still consider the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This means you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your bed partner’s midnight shimmies, making this a great option for couples.
While purchasing a new bed, most men and women wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the mattress or laying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I placed 4 balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, and a 100 lb medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are supposed to mimic different body parts and different sized sleepers. Dreamcloud Adjustable Base Warranty
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re likely to experience some immediate sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combo will interest a wide range of sleepers, but will satisfy back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a spouse and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial for you to think about the amount of edge support it will provide.
I am particularly interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses which fail to live up to the edge support of more conventional innerspring models.
Laying on my back, I felt just as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over to the wrapped coil system beneath. This system, along with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a good job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wished to simulate what it’d feel like to be sitting on top of the mattress in the morning when you are lacing up your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
