As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud fulfills many of our standards for what a excellent mattress should have. With eight exceptional layers of support and comfort, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the proper materials in its construction. Dream Cloud Tile
From the tufted cashmere cover that gives good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mix of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress contains better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid beds.
Despite the fact that it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant shaping to the mattress. If you are looking to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support center keeps you aligned all night long, especially so for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dream Cloud Tile
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to supply the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all the different materials at play here, I am stoked to dive into these layers to understand how well they interact with one another. Dream Cloud Tile
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a luxuriously soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these segments are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel trapped in the bed. The center of the three layers is particularly important because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s made up of perforated latex foam. Latex generally is good at dissipating heat, so the inclusion of these small ventilations encourages more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of polyurethane transitions into the firmer support section of this mattress, which is composed of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the mattress excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the structure. The coils also aid in regulating temperatures as the spaces between them allow for steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam is found at the bottom of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a sound foundation for the entire mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by putting light hand pressure into the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and first layers. My hands sunk into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with all the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a nice lift from these springs.
At this point I’d like to note that people of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. Rather than giving only my view on the overall firmness level of the DreamCloud, I invited three additional individuals to present their view too. This will give you a better feeling of the firmness range you can see from the mattress.
As you can find in the chart above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the firmness of this mattress, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compared to the market norm of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it’s apparent that this bed is pretty firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a solid bed. At the same time you’ll feel some slight sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you from this mattress and make you feel like you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Rather than just explaining the feel of this mattress for you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do so, I placed a pressure map above the bed and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the results on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was evenly dispersed across the mattress, therefore I did not feel as though I was sinking into the bed in any way. The quilted cover provided quality relief in my lumbar region and the pocketed coils helped lift me from the mattress and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, once I rolled onto my side, I started to feel pressure forming in my shoulders and hips. But, I still felt supported while the top foam layers alleviated what discomfort I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips upward and out of the mattress, which can be key for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you plan on sharing your bed with a spouse, you will want to find out what it’ll feel like if another individual crawls out of bed in the morning or tosses around at night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the intensity of motion that is detectable from one side of the mattress to the other. Dream Cloud Tile
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then quantified the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the four inch drop, which simulates someone rolling around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I would still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. This indicates you’re not likely to be overly disturbed by your mattress mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome solution for couples.
While purchasing a new bed, the majority of people wish to know whether they will feel as though they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of different sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and measured how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dream Cloud Tile
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage in the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a wide assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you are going to share your mattress with a partner and will need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it’s likely to be crucial that you consider the amount of edge support it’ll give you.
I am particularly interested to determine whether the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt just as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did at the center. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing overly dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the coil system beneath. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a good job of supporting my weight.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you are tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses experience severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly good.
