Because it’s a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets a number of our standards for what a excellent mattress must have. With eight unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud uses all of the proper materials in its construction. Dream Cloud Pillow
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides good airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud was made to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mix of polyurethane foam and latex layers, meaning this mattress includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there’s not any hug or significant contouring to the bed. If you are searching to sink into a mattress, proceed from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Dream Cloud Pillow
The DreamCloud features a tall profile for a mattress at a humongous 15 inches. The eight-layer structure is broken down to foam and wrapped coil components, which operate in tandem to provide the sleeper with a firm innerspring lift and lots of comfy pressure relief.
Given all of the different materials at play , I am stoked to get into these layers to see how well they interact with one another. Dream Cloud Pillow
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft feel up top. Additionally, it is built with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant pressure relief.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will find three thin layers of foam. While these sections are soft to the touch and supply some satisfying sinkage, they also react quickly to pressure, so that you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly essential for the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it’s comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at releasing heat, so the addition of these small ventilations encourages even more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The bottom layer of foam transitions into the firmer support section of the mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent bounce and help to disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also assist in regulating temperatures as the spaces between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the main use of cradling the pocketed coils and providing a solid foundation for the whole mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and texture. I started off by putting mild hand pressure to the mattress and instantly felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hands flowed into the material and I could feel some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in farther, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
At this point I want to let you know that people of different body shapes and types will feel firmness differently. As opposed to giving just my view on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I invited three other individuals to present their view too. This will provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you may see from the bed.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were pretty much in agreement about the stability of the mattress, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compared to the industry norm of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is apparent that this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the mattress a 7.5 and concur with the rest of the testers that it is definitely a solid mattress. While you’ll feel some slight sinking from the plush foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the center will lift you out of the bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Rather than just explaining the feel of the DreamCloud for you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do so, I put a pressure map above the bed and lied on my backside, and stomach. You can see the outcomes on the image below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was equally distributed across the mattress, so I did not feel as though I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover gave quality relief at my lumbar area and also the pocketed coils helped to lift me out of the bed and keep my spine in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the chart above, once I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming at my shoulders and hips. But, I still felt supported while the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Shifting over to my belly, I believed the DreamCloud did a great job of lifting my hips upward and from the mattress, which is crucial for stomach sleepers. I must mention that I was able to transition across these positions with relative ease.
If you plan on sharing your bed with a partner, you’ll want to find out what it’ll feel like if the other individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the night. This next test is meant to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. Dream Cloud Pillow
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates someone tossing around and adjusting their position on the other side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I’d still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, thanks to the individually wrapped coils. This indicates you’re unlikely to be too disturbed by your bed mate’s midnight shimmies, which makes this an awesome solution for couples.
When purchasing a new bed, most men and women wish to know whether they’ll feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or laying “on top” of it. To picture this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 lb medicine ball, a 10 pound steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compressed the surface.
The variations in size, density and weight are meant to simulate distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Dream Cloud Pillow
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
Even though you’re going to experience some instant sinkage from the soft foam at the top, by the time you sink through these layers, you are going to find the wrapped coils and experience fantastic support. This combination will appeal to a vast assortment of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers in particular.
If you’re going to share your mattress with a partner and need to use the whole surface area of the mattress, it is likely to be crucial that you think about the amount of edge support it’ll provide.
I’m particularly interested to determine if the DreamCloud will endure the exact same fate as other compacted bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to fulfill the edge support of more traditional innerspring versions.
Laying on my back, I felt as supported at the edge of the mattress as I did at the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I experienced a little compression due to the top foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Shifting to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it did not carry over to the coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support round the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the mattress in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A good deal of foam mattresses undergo a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly well.
