Firmness

I started off by putting mild hand pressure to the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand flowed into the material and I could sense some instantaneous pressure relief. Pushing in further, I began to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I’d like to note that individuals of different body types and shapes will sense firmness differently. Rather than giving just my opinion on the general firmness level of the DreamCloud, I invited three other people to give their opinion as well. This will provide you with a better feeling of the firmness range you may expect from the mattress.
As you can find in the graph above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of this DreamCloud, giving it an average rating of 7.75. Compared to the industry standard of 6.5 for medium firmness and it is apparent that this bed is really firm.
Personally, I gave the bed a 7.5 and concur with the other testers that it’s definitely a solid mattress. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking because of the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils in the core will lift you out of this bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of the mattress.
Pressure Map
As opposed to just explaining the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I chose to provide a visual representation of where someone may feel pressure points shape while lying on it. To do this, I put a pressure map on top of the mattress and lied on my back, side, and stomach. You can find the outcomes on the image below where pressure is denoted from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – Once on my back, my weight was equally dispersed throughout the mattress, therefore I didn’t feel like I was sinking into the mattress in any way. If you plan on sharing your mattress with a partner, you will want to know what it will feel like when the other person crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the nighttime. To illustrate this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 lb steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and then measured the disturbance it caused: the bigger the lines, the larger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud shows a little bit of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody tossing around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops reveal slightly bigger spikes, I would still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating movement, as a result of the individually wrapped coils. Edge Support

In this position, I wished to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on the bed in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses undergo severe compression in this position, but the DreamCloud actually held up fairly good.
