As a hybrid mattress, the DreamCloud meets a number of our criteria for what a quality mattress must have. With eight unique layers of comfort and support, the DreamCloud utilizes all of the proper materials in its construction. Does Dreamcloud Own Nectar
From the tufted cashmere cover that provides great airflow, to the gel memory foam in the uppermost comfort layer, the DreamCloud is designed to promote a cooler night’s sleep. Resting below are a mixture of memory foam and latex layers, meaning this bed includes better quality relaxation materials than most other hybrid mattresses.
Even though it utilizes multiple memory foam layers, there is not any hug or significant contouring to the mattress. If you’re looking to sink into a mattress, move on from the DreamCloud.
A pocketed coil support core keeps you aligned all night long, especially so for all you back sleepers on the market.

Construction Does Dreamcloud Own Nectar
The DreamCloud has an astoundingly tall profile for a mattress at a whopping 15 inches. The eight-layer construction is broken down into foam and wrapped coil parts, which work in tandem to provide the sleeper with a strong innerspring lift and lots of comfortable pressure relief.
Given all the distinct materials at play , I’m stoked to dive into these layers to see how well they interact together. Does Dreamcloud Own Nectar
Cover – The cover is composed of a cashmere and polyester blend for a soft texture up top. It’s also quilted with memory foam, which supplies the sleeper with instant relaxation.
Foam Layers – Under the cover, you will discover three thin layers of polyurethane. While these sections are soft to the touch and provide some pleasing sinkage, they also respond quickly to pressure, so you won’t feel stuck in the mattress. The middle of the three layers is particularly essential because of the temperature regulation of the DreamCloud as it is comprised of perforated latex foam. Latex in general is good at releasing heat, so the inclusion of those small ventilations encourages more cooling.
Pocketed Coils – The base layer of polyurethane transitions to the firmer support segment of this mattress, which is made up of a pocketed coil system. These individually wrapped springs provide the bed excellent rebound and assist disperse motion throughout the mattress. The coils also aid in moderating temperatures as the spaces between them permit steady air flow.
Foundation Layer – A thin layer of high-density polyfoam lies at the base of the mattress, with the major function of cradling the pocketed coils and offering a solid foundation for the entire mattress.
After having a look at the construction of the DreamCloud, let us talk about the firmness and feel. I started off by applying light hand pressure into the mattress and immediately felt the soft foam of the quilted cover and top layers. My hand sunk into the material and I could sense some instant pressure relief. Pushing in further, I started to interact with the pocketed coils beneath and experienced a pleasant lift from these springs.
Now I’d like to let you know that individuals of different body types and shapes will feel firmness differently. As opposed to giving just my opinion on the overall firmness level of this mattress, I enlisted three other people to present their opinion too. This will provide you with a much better sense of the firmness range you may expect from the bed.
As you can find in the chart above, the testers were in agreement about the stability of the DreamCloud, giving it a mean rating of 7.75. Compare this to the market standard of 6.5 for moderate firmness and it is apparent that this mattress is pretty firm.
I personally gave the bed a 7.5 and agree with the other testers that it is definitely a good bed. At the same time you’ll feel some small sinking from the lavish foam top layers, the individually wrapped coils at the core will lift you from this bed and make you feel as though you’re sleeping on top of this mattress.
As opposed to simply explaining the feel of the DreamCloud to you, I chose to give a visual representation of where somebody may feel pressure points form while lying on the mattress. To do so, I put a pressure map above the mattress and lied on my backside, and tummy. You can see the results on the image below where pressure is represented from blue (low pressure) to red (high pressure).
Back – When on my backside, my weight was equally distributed across the mattress, so I did not feel like I was sinking into the mattress at all. The quilted cover gave quality relief at my lumbar area and the pocketed coils helped lift me out of the bed and keep my back in alignment.
Side – As you can see in the graph above, after I rolled onto my side, I began to feel pressure forming in my hips and shoulders. But, I felt supported and the top foam layers alleviated what distress I felt in this position.
Stomach – Switching over to my stomach, I thought the DreamCloud did a fantastic job of lifting my hips up and out of the mattress, which is key for stomach sleepers. I should mention that I managed to transition across these positions with comparative ease.
If you plan on sharing your mattress with a spouse, you’ll want to know what it’ll feel like when another individual crawls out of bed in the break of dawn or tosses around during the night. This next test is intended to demonstrate the high level of motion that is detectable from 1 side of the mattress to the other. Does Dreamcloud Own Nectar
To show you this motion transfer, I dropped a 10 pound steel ball from heights of 4 inches, 8 inches and 12 inches and measured the disturbance it generated: the bigger the lines, the bigger the disturbance.
The DreamCloud demonstrates a small amount of disturbance for the 4 inch drop, which simulates somebody rolling around and adjusting their position on the opposite side of the bed. While the 8 and 12 inch drops show slightly larger spikes, I would still regard the mattress to be quite good at isolating motion, as a result of its individually wrapped coils. This means you’re unlikely to be overly disturbed by your mattress partner’s midnight shimmies, which makes this a great option for couples.
While purchasing a new bed, most people want to know whether they will feel like they’re sinking”into” the bed or lying “on top” of it. To visualize this sinkage, I put four balls of varying sizes and densities (a 6 pound medicine ball, a 10 lb steel ball, a 50 pound medicine ball, along with a 100 pound medicine ball) on the mattress and quantified how much they compacted the top.
The variations in size, weight and density are supposed to mimic distinct body parts and different sized sleepers. Does Dreamcloud Own Nectar
– 6 lb medicine ball: 1.5 inches of sinkage.
– 10 lb steel ball: 2 inches of sinkage.
– 50 lb medicine ball: 4.5 inches of sinkage.
– 100 lb medicine ball: 5.5 inches of sinkage.
While you’re going to encounter some immediate sinkage from the soft foam on top, by the time you sink through those layers, you are going to hit the wrapped coils and feel fantastic support. This combo will appeal to a vast range of sleepers, but will suit back and stomach sleepers the most.
If you’re going to share your bed with a partner and need to use the entire surface area of the mattress, it is going to be crucial for you to consider the amount of edge support it will give you.
I’m especially interested to see if the DreamCloud will endure the same fate as other compressed bed-in-a-box mattresses that fail to live up to the edge support of more traditional innerspring models.
Lying on my back, I felt as supported in the edge of the mattress as I did at the middle. Pressing closer to the side, I felt a bit of compression due to the highest foam layers, but nothing too dramatic.
Changing to my side, I once again noticed compression in the foam layers, but it didn’t carry over into the coil system below. This system, together with the polyfoam edge support around the mattress, did a great job of supporting my body.
In this position, I wanted to simulate what it would feel like to be sitting on top of the mattress in the morning when you’re tying your shoes and getting ready for work. A lot of foam mattresses experience a lot of compression in this position, but the DreamCloud really held up fairly well.
